I do not like mailing in report forms to the state in this age of email. Their form is in .pdf format. You have to print their form fill it out and mail it in. I simply took a copy of their form an retyped it in word and also converted it to text. Now you can just type in the answers and just email the completed form and map. The links to the forms are below. Endangered and Threatened Species Report form in WORD. Endangered and Threatened Species Report form in TEXT. Instructions on how to fill out the form and what must be attached are included in the form. You send an email to Gretchen.Fowles@dep.state.nj.us (609-777-0510) Attach the completed form plus attach a jpeg of the map that locates the sighting and optional, if you have a photo attach that also. That is all you have to do. Filling out the map is a little tricky. I use http://www.topozone.com/ . Click on view maps. You have to fill out the address or coordinates in order to retrieve the desired map. I get a copy of this page by hitting the Printscreen button on the pc. This saves a picture of the screen in the ram of your computer as a bitmap image. Now you have to open your favorite image program, I use photoshop elements. In that program open a new empty file and just paste the image of the map into the new program. If everything works out you will see a copy of the topo web page with the map that you want. Using the (T) or test tool you can mark the lighting location with an "x" or anything else you want. You can also add your name date of sighting and what species. When you are happy with the image save it as an jepg. This jpeg is what you will attach along with a form to the email to Gretchen Fowles. Here is a sample jepg.
