At Lakehurst Naval Base (LNB) we had the following highlights: (Note that LNB is not open to the public and this post is just to let the local birding community know the recent status of NJ's largest breeding population of Upland Sandpipers and Grasshopper Sparrows. I will find out by next week if there are any formal trips planned to LNB for the public). 5/31/03

3 Yellow-billed Cuckoo
1 Osprey
2 Common Nighthawk
1 Kestrel
4 Blue Grosbeaks, two males disputing over a female
